Holly shit I am in love! The most amazing linen I have ever seen by nani iro…I really really want to buy a yard of this but do not know yet what I’ll make, plus it’s fucking expensive.

new pants

A few weeks ago I went to Bolt, one of Portland’s local boutique fabric stores, and feel in love with some of Anna Maria Horner’s fabric. I quickly bought some, brought it home and made pants for Florence. It was great fabric to work with, amazing color palete and I think she looks so stinking cute in them. Later in the week I made her and some of her friends matching headbands out of it.

 new shoes

I made some baby shoes inspired by our favorite zutano pair. They were much harder than I expected…lots of ripping seams out, trimming and re-sewing. I’m going to try to make another pair and maybe even do up a little tutorial so others can give it a try and learn from my mistakes.

And look…she likes them. :)

napkins

I’ve been having trouble being creative in the evenings after Florence falls asleep, but I need some me time before I hit the hay. Watching 45 minutes of tv or a movie has been my outlet. So I don’t feel guilty about this, I’ve been embroidering on these linen napkins I sewed. My husband loves using a napkin when he eats and I was feeling like we’ve been using too many paper products. It makes eating dinner feel so fancy to have a cloth napkin.

trade with becky

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

I did a trade with my friend Becky. A little confusing since my name is Becky also…it’s the first time I’ve ever really known another Becky. Anyway, she knitted a beautiful sweater for Florence and I made a little pair of pants for her son Jasper.

elephant jeans

I used the pant pattern from this book and then changed up the pockets and added the elephants to the inside of the pant. Also, designed the elephant pattern and printed it out on fabric paper.
